Secret itinerary and places in England
- an inspiring itinerary around the world in pictures -
SOUTH ENGLAND
Our route from Bristol via Wells, Glastonbury, Corfe Castle, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Oxford, Lacock and Bath took a week. A week full of mystical places, wild coastlines, splendid gardens and astonishing castles. Come with us...
The Old Harry Rocks are located 2 km east of
Studland, about 4 km northeast of Swanage
and about 10 km south of the cities of Poole and
Bournemouth. Old Harry is also a name for the
devil. I must say that after arriving at the edge
of the coast really exhausted (1 hour walk ) and
looking at the unreal stones in the water, one
gets an weird feeling.
The south of England is blessed with beautiful
gardens and palaces to be enjoyed step by step.
Take at least 3-4 hours for each garden.
Our recommendation Stowe gardens - near Milton
Keynes, Stourhead , Bienheim Palace near Oxford.
Stonehenge - probably the best-known megalithic
formation in the world, whose stones are up to
seven meters high and weigh fifty tons - was built
more than 5,000 years ago.
The oldest components of the stone circles erected
inside the earth wall are the "blue stones".
These stones are said to have a special magical
power.
