Secret itinerary and places in Thailand
- an inspiring itinerary around the world in pictures -
NORTH and SOUTH
Our route in northen Thailand from Chiang Mai via Lamphun and Ayutthaya took us to the Krabi and Khaolak region in the south - west. Our route led us to almost unknown or spectacular unique tempels and wild unspoiled coasts. Come with us...
In the north of Thailand you can visit almost unknown temples, where no tourist has set his foot in yet.
Chiang Mai has about 200 Buddhist temples in total.
Our top secret tip: Wat Pa Dara Phirom!
We discovered the Wat Pa Dara Phirom by chance when we were on our way to the Mae Sa Waterfalls. It is an absolute insider tip, because there were really no tourists there!
We went to Lamphun by train - and the ticket price was only 5 bath.
Where once the royal palace of queen Chama Devi is said to have been located, since the middle of the 12th century Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, the most important temple of the Mon empire, rises.
The royal temple is located in the middle of the old town protected by the red lion.

With such a boat you can also reach the Railay beach and the extraordinary "phallus" temple.
At the southeast end of the beautiful Phra Nang beach is Phranang Cave.
Here surrounded by stalactites you can find many phalluses of all sizes and materials, but mainly carved from wood - brought from childless couples or women to please the gods and bless them with a child.
